And if it is, WHY release it only on vinyl? NO ONE has anything that can play vinyl any more!

It's true; it's already being offered for pre-order on amazon:

As for issuing it on CD, I'd sign a petition!

hope this helps,

Travisjames,

I ask the same question. Why not 'also' in cd. How much money can they make with the very few who can still play vinyl?

First of all, they are going to lose $$$ for two reason: 1., NO ONE wants vinyl, and 2., someone that does have a vinyl player will put these songs online for download and that is where I and others will get them from (never mind that we would have gladly paid for it if it were issued in CD format).

Dumb move.

am I missing something here? "If You Can Believe Your Eyes And Ears" has been, and is available on CD. What's the fuss?

Two possible reasons I can think of:

1. Vinyl is more suitable for this reissue due to possible issues with the master tape (such as excessive tape hiss that they do not want to have to de-noise; vinyl is much less revealing when it comes to tape hiss)
2. Sundazed wants the reissue to be faithful to the way that the album was originally issued

My guess is #2.

Hi folks,

I think they'll probably release it on vinyl first - to hit the small but fervent niche of record collectors - then put it out quicky after on CD. I think the bottom-line is moving units.

I think, beside the mono mix, the unveiling of the infamous toilet on a real album cover is another major selling point. I might just go ahead and get this on lp - which just proves my point, I guess.

Pauliewood,

The fuss is because it's from the mono master tapes.
