It happens once in a lifetime
Believe me it's true
A person that resonates
Of their being
To touch our lives
In what they do

Cass Elliot was such a woman
Her talent and face
Everywhere she would go
Something magic took place

She had her own mind
Never one to quit
Even in times of turmoil
She maintined her awesome wit

Gifted in many a way
Her ability to shine and convey
In song and humour
Her feet did dance
Even today as we watch clips
You can't help but get in a trance

Never mind the negativity
That often came upon her life
We focus instead on her positivity
And her awareness of the world issues
In that time of restlessness and change
War and strife

Her eyes are expressive as is her smile
The clothes she wore
Tame and sometimes wild
Her legacy is worth the while

She is that golden speck
That is a rare gem
A rainbow that blooms
Whose spirit is inspiring
To which we embrace a fleck

Here's to a lady
Whose following is a mass
Lovingly and forever
Cass the Lass With Class...
