Can't believe it's been 39 yrs since Cass' passing and yet her memory and legacy continues to endure and constantly gets new fans or others rediscovering what she was about.

In her honour, may I share this tribute :

"Lady Cass "

A lovely , lively woman
With an attitude and voice to call her own
In my mind as well as others
She reigns as one of the 5 best all time vocalists
We have ever come to have known
Sure she had issues
And sometimes things were great and then went amiss
She was a great mother
And a great sibling of elderness
To that of Leah
Her younger sis
Though she left us behind
Many songs ago
It's worth to say she is thought of
Heard by, fondly remembered
By those of family and friends
Lifelong fans who care
My only wish I was more older
And could of seen her and been there
A gal of wit and sass
Enjoyed life as she saw fit
Your spirit lives onwards
The one, the only
No, not Mamma
But simply
Lady Cass...

Hi Cassfan,
Grest poem. God bless Cass, John, Denny, Scott McKenzie, John Stewart, and Linda Wood. Just wanted to pass along that last night, on Showtime's Dexter they played "Make Your Own Kind of Music" again during a scene. This is the second time the show has used the song. Someone working with the show must be a Cass/M and P fan.
Take care,
Nicole

Yes indeed, I'm thinking about Cass today. Here's an interview. I thought it might be a good way to remember her. Her mom is in this one !
Take care

Cassfan - The poem is lovely.

Thanks Frankie. I love that clip. There's an excerpt from it in the Cass Elliot Biography on A&E. She looks awesome and seems happy and breezy. God I miss her. By the way, could Bess Cohen be any more charming?

peace,
jcg

I really enjoyed the video Frankie. Cass looked really hot in those aviator sunglasses. By the way, since Rodney Allen Rippy was also in that video and in a crazy coincidence, with today being the anniversary of Cass' death, it is also Rodney's birthday. Both Cass and Rodney were both guests on the Mike Douglas Show on the same day and amazingly, Cass died on Rodney's birthday. Unbelievable!!!
