Is it possible that Springboard was not the intended title of the album, but the name of the record label? There was a budget label that existed for many years called Springboard that often released entire albums (and compilations) with different covers.

this was an actual album cover with 'Springboard' on the cover. This was right befoe 'Papas and the Mamas' were released so it was not a compilation by another record company. This was discussed in an earlier thread and I think Richard, or maybe someone else, spoke about it but I can't find tha thread. Doesn't that rarity list from Stee Hoffman confirm it?

Actually, "Springboard" would have been an appropriate title given that by the time the album was finished, Cass was launching a solo career. Springboards are used for launching. Very clever. (And I feel certain that the title was no coincidence, as in the case of "Deliver".)
