Dick Clark RIP

Postby davidasix » Wed Apr 18, 2012 3:49 pm

Hi,

Just caught the news that TV legend Dick Clark passed away today. Did anyone else grow up loving "TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes"... and "American Bandstand".

This obituary article is one I read and was surprised to see Mamas and Papas mentioned:

"As the music matured through the years, Clark played a potent role in star-shaping, and the Mamas and the Papas and Madonna would join the long and eclectic list of performers who got that first big boost on "Bandstand." Clark himself joined many of his show's guests in 1993 when he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame."

In Dick Clark's memory, here is a link to his show with the M&Ps: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFqZfsdbPh0

Sorry, I couldn't find the video & audio of Cass's solo and duo perfomances on Bandstand. There is a picture on this site from 1969 solo appearance.
