I was wondering if anyone had any info regarding The New Journeymen that featured John and Michelle. How many recordings did they make? I've never seen a cd anywhere, though there are 3 by the original line-up. How many tracks did they record with Denny in the even later line-up. Thanks, Rich.

I don't know how many recordings they did, but there are three demo recordings by the New Journeymen on a cd called "Before they were the Mamas and the Papas ...the magic circle," which includes songs by the Mugwumps, Journeymen, and other groups formed before the Mamas and Papas. It's worth buying just to hear the New Journeymen's songs and Michelle's vocals. Michelle sounds great on these songs. My favorite of the three is their version of "Mr. Tambourine Man," which features terrific vocals by Denny and Michelle.

In a perfect universe the Papa John estate would uncover an entire unreleased album's worth of material and put it out. After they finish with the John solo releases. I'm expecting the 1992 sessions next.

The New Journeymen did not record an album. The recordings on The Magic Circle CD and the television performances from Canadian TV which was featured in a clip on the Hall brothers' TV shows are the only recordings that remain of their brief existence. All of these recordings were with Denny.

Also--The New Journeymen were only in existence from late 1964 to Spring 1965 as The Journeymen were still doing concerts in late Spring 1964 and John and Michelle and Denny were in the Virgin Islands by summer 1965.
