Yeah, you're right that is a funny additive. Also, did you notice that this cover isn't the original folded cover, you know where you can switch the group's faces? Interstibg item though.

You're right Nicole. If I remember right, later pressings of that album in the US did not have the gatefold either, like the later Velvet Underground albums did not have the peel off banana and the Rolling Stones 'Sticky Fingers' didn't have the zipper.

The other thing about the later pressings of Papas and Mamas was that they did not include the second verse of "Right Somebody to Love" which was on the beginning of the B-Side of the original album.

I didn't know that. I thought the second verse of "Somebody" was cut out first when the album went to cd so I guess the master from the later LP pressings was used on the early cds. There is a double album cd of Deliver' and 'The Papas and The Mamas' that was the first cd release, I think, that had the second verse.

Why it was cut out to begin with who knows except that it irritated me.
