I see, so 'Top of the Pops' showed that clip taken by the BBC. I wonder if a lot more footage is around from that film. We alway seem to see the asme loop.

I hear ya abt Lloyd Thaston. Quite a waste of valuable footage.

Also, is this not from a tv appearance?

Somewhere I read that they sang "I saw her again last night" on that show with Jill, probably as a rehearsal for what's been said in the previous post. A song like that one would make sense for the date of the pic (june/july '66) cause that's when the single was released and would be the right time to promote it...

By the way, has anybody ever watched the performance of "I got a feelin'" they did on Where the action is? That would be very interesting to watch...

Albert.
I was just thinking about this...I'll bet it IS from JUNE/JULY '66---my guess is that is was shot as an insert for the summer rerun of one of the earlier H'wood Palaces.--Wanna bet,the reason it can't be found is because everyone is looking in the WRONG PLACE???!!!---That would be the most logical explaination.--I know of reruns of Ed Sullivan, they would either add a new insert or even replace the live performance with the dress rehearsal.--Saturday Night Live still often does this.--With SNL,if you're watching a rereun, with the host intros the musical guest, look at the clock behind them.If the time isn't between 11:30-1:00,they've switched out the live performance....

Would have been recorded between mid-July and mid-August 1966.

Interesting idea about being shot as an insert for a summer re-run. If that were the case, any idea as to how one might go about looking for it?

John Sands wrote:Yes Nicole it would be nice to have an answer. John and Denny's harmonizing was great and rarely used like it was on 'Hey Girl' and "Straight Shooter'.

The list on this thread says that the group was on 'Where the Action Is' on 9/66 so surely they were on earlier, before Michelle's firing. Actually, I find it hard to believe that they were on that show at that late a date but I would love to be proven wrong since I did not see the show in it's entirety when the group was on. If I remember right it was a show that was on during the day when kids were in school and if I'm right then duh!!!. Of course I could be wrong on that too!

You're right John, the correct date for that show is 04/29/1966.
