Hi everyone, Just wanted to say that my thoughts and prayers are with Denny's family and friends on what would have been his 70th birthday. Take care, Nicole
Denny was a real class-act and a genuinely nice guy. I was fortunate to meet and talk with him on two occasions - the first time when the new Mamas and Papas (John, Denny, Mackenzie and Spanky) played at my college in the mid-80's and later during the run of his show, "Dream a Little Dream" here in NYC several years ago. I told him that my parents had seen the original Mamas and Papas shortly after I was born when they played at Carnegie Hall. He remembered that show as one of the "high points" of his career.
He was very kind and funny - I have his autograph on the poster from the show and it hangs in my den. I'm really glad I had to opportunity to meet him.
Thankyou Rob for sharing that memory, what a lucky man you are , for having that opportunity to speak with Denny . Also, that autographed poster that hangs in your den, treasure it dearly !
I wish I had the chance to have met Denny at some point in time, and even to have caught the "Dream a Little Dream" show when it played in these parts ( Toronto-Montreal corridor ), but I couldn't have afforded to go, so I'm content with reading of it on his site
