Your fave part of Cass' 1969 tv special ?

Postby CassFanForLife » Mon Jun 20, 2011 7:19 am

Well, since I bought/have only seen the DVD of Cass' 1969 tv special (I wasn't very old at the time it was made...I was born in January of that year -lol ), and would love to see the 1973 tv special, eventually...
Anyways, what were your favourite part(s) of the 1969 special ? I enjoyed all of it, really, but the parts where she sings with John Sebastian, and hams it up with Buddy.... and her singng the few M & P songs in her own style....

If this is a repeat posting, I apologize, as i can't always recall what i posted prevoius after a period of time....perhaps early-pre-senior moments ?!

without a doubt it would have to be the song that Cass, Joni and Mary sang...beautiful harmonies...the performance is outstanding...wish it was on a cd recording...i would add it to my collection of Cass songs.
....and yes I agree about the second TV show...I was 19 at the time...but out of the country and did not get to see it.

Hi guys,
I think the song you're referring to, roger, is We Shall be Released. That's my favorite.
Take care,

I enjoyed the live solo set at the end of the show the most. Not so keen on some bits of the show, such as the sketch with Barbara Bain and Martin Landau. I would have preferred the whole show to have been a live Cass concert with guest duets. I love the duet she did with Mary and Joni.
Does the 1973 tv special exist. If so, are there plans to release a dvd. I would be first in the queue! Richard.
