The Mamas & The Papas' first LP on Mono CD

Postby Alby » Fri Sep 02, 2011 1:29 pm

Hi,
just to let you know the next October the 25th, Sundazed Records will release the Mono version of the Mamas & The Papas first album If you can believe your eyes & ears (1966) on CD. I first found the CD at amazon.com:

http://www.amazon.com/You-Believe-Yo...4998075&sr=1-3

and then I emailed Sundazed to ask if it was the mono release and they answered it is.

Let's hope they'll release the 2nd and 3rd albums of the group in mono too...who knows...

Albert.

I ask the same question. Why not 'also' in cd. How much money can they make with the very few who can still play vinyl?

Hi folks,

I think they'll probably release it on vinyl first - to hit the small but fervent niche of record collectors - then put it out quicky after on CD. I think the bottom-line is moving units.

I think, beside the mono mix, the unveiling of the infamous toilet on a real album cover is another major selling point. I might just go ahead and get this on lp - which just proves my point, I guess.

I knew it! This is good news indeed.

Hi jcg,
I'm confused. I know that in October of 2010, Sundazed released the Mono version on vinyl. When I clicked on the link for Amazon to find out about the cd release, nothing came up. Do you know when the cd is coming out? Any info is greatly appreicated.
Take care,
Nicole

Hi jcg,
I recieved mine yesterday, but I haven't gotten the chance to listen to it yet. The packaging is great with the original album with the exposed toilet. Hope this helps.
Take care,
