D & Z The Slurp

Postby davidasix » Sat Dec 27, 2008 12:59 pm

Just searching for some info on Denny and Zal. I came upon a strange site:

http://beemp3.com/index.php?q=unrel.%3B ... y&st=album

This seems quite likely to be an actual track from the short-lived D & Z, featuring a track entitled "The Slurp". Was it ever released? Was Erik Jacobsen involved? Is this a legit site?

Yup, I've had the track since I first found it online a few years ago. Quite interesting, to say the least. Gotta love those slurpy sounds!

Yes, it's the real deal. Not sure how this got on to the net---it was surrepetitiously leaked though. Surf craze to be sure. Too bad, as a result it will likely never be put on a compilation etc. D & Z were probably around Spring 1964--as The Halifax Three busted up and The Mugwumps were coalescing. They performed at Mac's Pipe & Drum in Georgetown---just down the street from The Shadows---the home club of The Mugwumps.
