Never-before-released music
written and performed by John
Phillips from his long-lost
musical Man On The Moon (a/k/a
Space). The release is an enhanced CD containing 34 previously unreleased original John Phillips songs performed by John and his Celestial Choir, featuring Genevieve Waite, Monique Van Vooren, and Denny Doherty. Includes live recordings of the show made by Andy Warhol from the audience at the Little Theatre in 1975, and studio tracks from the 1974 Phillips-produced rare cult classic Genevieve Waite album, “Romance Is On The Rise.”

This is the long-lost album that
John Phillips recorded as the
first solo artist signed to
Rolling Stones Records in 1976.
Produced by Mick Jagger and
Keith Richards, the album
reunited them in the studio for
the first time with ex-Stones
member Mick Taylor and also
features his replacement, Ron
Wood. Pussycat presents for the
first time the recently-located
original ‘70s mix of the album,
together with newly-discovered
outtakes and material from the
1976 sessions for Phillips’s
soundtrack to the film The Man
Who Fell To Earth, starring
David Bowie.

Jack Of Diamonds is the second
release in the ongoing “Papa
John Phillips Presents” album
series, following last year’s
acclaimed reissue of his 1970
debut solo album, "John,
The Wolfking Of L.A." The album features a stellar group of musicians from the era, including members of The Crusaders (Wilton Felder, Larry Carlton and Joe Sample), Jim Gordon (Traffic, Derek and the Dominos), Van Dyke Parks (The Beach Boys’ Smile album), Alan Estes (The Mothers Of Invention) and Mamas & Papas stalwarts, Hal Blaine and Joe Osborn. Included as bonus tracks are songs from some of the other projects John was working on between 1970 and 1973, including songs intended for the final Mamas & Papas’ studio album, "People Like Us", the soundtrack to the Robert Altman film Phillips co-produced with Lou Adler, Brewster McCloud, and an original film and theater project called Space (Man On The Moon), produced by Andy Warhol. |

Cass' bandmate John Phillips recorded one solo album shortly after the group dissolved but before they reunited for 1971's People Like Us. John, The Wolfking of L.A. has long been out of print domestically and this newly remastered recording includes the Single Version of the hit Mississippi as well as eight additional bonus tracks. |
